Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information the Arcana Cat app (com.crinogames.arcanacat) collects, how it is used and shared, how long it is kept, and the choices you have. It applies to the Arcana Cat app on Android and iOS and to the Arcana Cat server it talks to. Arcana Cat is developed by Crino Games ("we", "us").
The short version
- You don't create an account. There is no login, and we never ask for your email address or phone number in the app.
- Your readings, Journal, notes, collection, name and birth date are stored only on your device.
- Every reading is written on your device from the meanings of the cards. Your questions don't leave the device unless you choose to share a reading.
- Purchases are handled by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We never see your card or bank details.
- The current version shows no ads and sends no usage analytics. We don't sell your data.
- Only if you choose Share with the full reading link is a reading stored on our website, readable by anyone who has the link, for 30 days or until you stop sharing it.
- You can delete your data at any time in Profile > Privacy > Delete my data.
1. Information that stays on your device
Most of Arcana Cat works without the internet. These are saved in the app's private storage on your phone or tablet and are not sent to us:
- Your readings and Journal (questions, cards drawn, the reading text, your notes and tags).
- Your collection and progress: cards discovered, streaks, achievements, card backs and tables.
- Your settings: language, sound, music, vibration, reminders, default theme and spread.
- The optional name you give the cat to call you, and your optional birth date. Your name and birth date never leave the device.
- A random install code (a string of letters and numbers created when the app is first opened). It is not linked to your name, your Google or Apple account, your phone number or any advertising ID.
- Which purchases are active on this device, so Premium and bought items work offline.
This information is deleted if you uninstall the app, clear its data, or use Delete my data. If your device backs up app data (for example Android or iCloud backup), the copy is handled by Google or Apple under their own policies.
Safety: if a question suggests someone may be in danger, the app shows a support message and a crisis line instead of a reading. This check happens on your device.
2. Purchases and subscriptions
Arcana Cat Premium (monthly or yearly) and items such as card back packs are sold through Google Play Billing on Android and the Apple App Store on iOS. The store processes your payment and its own account data under its privacy policy. The app receives a purchase confirmation (which product, the transaction identifier and whether it is active) and keeps it on your device to unlock what you bought. We don't receive your name, email, card number or billing address. Subscriptions are managed and cancelled in the store.
3. Service providers we use
| Provider | What for | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Amazon Web Services (São Paulo region, Brazil) | Hosting our website and storing shared readings | Shared readings (section 6), technical request data |
| Google (Google Play) and Apple (App Store) | App distribution, payments and subscriptions | Purchase data, under their own policies |
| Unity Technologies | The game engine and the in-app purchase library the app is built with | Device and app technical data (such as device model, operating system, hardware details and app version), used by Unity to run and improve its services |
Their privacy policies: AWS, Google, Apple, Unity.
We may also disclose information if required by law or a valid order from an authority, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or others. If Arcana Cat is sold or transferred, this policy will continue to apply to the data transferred.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for advertising.
4. Ads
The current version of Arcana Cat contains no ads and no advertising SDK. If we add optional reward videos in the future, we will update this policy and the store's data safety section before that version is released, and personalized ads will only be used with your permission.
5. Usage statistics
The current version does not send usage statistics or crash reports to us or to any analytics company. If we start counting anonymous game events (such as readings done and screens opened) to improve the app, we will update this policy first, and those events will not include your questions, name or birth date.
6. Sharing, reminders and permissions
- Sharing: when you tap Share, the app creates an image of the reading on your device and hands it to the app you choose, with a short summary and a link to arcanacat.app. Your question is hidden unless you choose to show it. We don't receive the image. A link that only names the cards drawn (
arcanacat.app/share/...) stores nothing on our server. - Full reading links (optional): if you choose Share with the full reading link, the app sends that reading to our website so it can be read at a private link (
arcanacat.app/read/...). We store the spread, the cards, the reading text, and your question only if Show my question when I share is on. We never store your name, birth date, install code, Journal notes or the reminders of past readings with it, and we don't store your IP address with it. The link is a long random code, so it can't be guessed, and the page is hidden from search engines, but anyone you send it to, or who they forward it to, can read it. It is deleted automatically after 30 days. You can delete it sooner with Stop sharing on that reading in your Journal, or with Delete my data. To limit spam, our server counts how many links each IP address creates per hour, keeping only a scrambled (hashed) form of the address for two hours. - Reminders: reminders (such as the Card of the Day) are scheduled on your device. We don't run a push notification server.
- Permissions: the app uses internet access (for purchases and shared reading links) and vibration (for haptic feedback). It does not access your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos or files.
7. Legal bases
Where data protection laws such as Brazil's LGPD or the EU/UK GDPR apply, we process data on these bases: the performance of a contract for purchases and for providing the features you request; our legitimate interests in keeping the service secure, preventing abuse and handling support; and legal obligations where they apply.
8. International transfers
Our server is in Brazil. Unity, Google and Apple may process data in the United States and other countries. When data is transferred abroad, we rely on our providers' contractual safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) as permitted by the LGPD and the GDPR.
9. How long we keep data
| Data | Where | Kept for |
|---|---|---|
| Journal, collection, settings, name, birth date | Your device | Until you delete them, the app's data or the app |
| Shared readings (full reading links) | Our server | 30 days, or until you stop sharing or delete your data |
| Hourly link counters (hashed IP address) | Our server | 2 hours |
| Technical server logs (errors and counts, without your question) | Our server | As long as needed for security and fixing problems |
10. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of your personal data, to know who it is shared with, to withdraw consent, and to object to processing. In Arcana Cat you can:
- Delete everything with Profile > Privacy > Delete my data. This deletes the data on your device and, through our server, every reading you shared with a full reading link. See how to delete your data.
- Email us at (contact email coming soon) for any other request. Because we don't have accounts, include the install code shown in the support email the app prepares (Profile > About > Contact us) so we can find what you ask about. We answer within 15 days.
In Brazil you can also complain to the National Data Protection Authority (ANPD). In the EU or UK, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
11. Security
All communication between the app and our server uses HTTPS. Each shared reading can only be deleted with its own key, which stays on your device; server data is encrypted at rest by AWS, and access to it is restricted. No system is completely secure, but we keep the data we hold to a minimum and delete it on a short schedule.
12. Children
Arcana Cat is intended for adults (18 and over) and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will also tell you in the app before it takes effect.
